Are you a coffee fiend that just can’t get enough of that morning java fix? If so, your smile might be bearing the brunt of your relationship with coffee. If you’ve noticed that your once bright smile has started to dull and yellow, it might be time to consider how teeth whitening in Ewa Beach could clear up that post-coffee smile.
What should I expect from my in-office teeth whitening procedure?
When you come in for your teeth whitening we will put a protective shield over your gums to protect it from the bleaching chemicals. Then we will apply a heavily concentrated bleaching gel over your teeth. Once that’s finished, we will shine a laser over your teeth to activate the gel and start the whitening process. This will only take 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes are up, we will remove the gel, apply a new coat over your teeth and shine the laser on your smile once more. We will do this three times for a total of 45 minutes during one visit.
When will I see results? How long will they last?
You should see results immediately after your first session. For many patients, only one treatment is necessary to achieve the smile they want; however, for those with more severe stains, more than one visit might be necessary.
What are the benefits of professional teeth whitening?
The major benefit is the speed of which you see results. As we mentioned earlier, some patients will be satisfied with their smiles after only one visit. We can boost some smiles up to ten shades whiter in only an hour. This is something that commercial products just can’t offer.
Plus, if you have sensitive teeth and gums, professional teeth whitening is a better option for you, as we can monitor and adjust the bleaching levels to accommodate you and your smile. Even though we may use stronger bleaching gels, we also have the materials to protect your gums from the chemicals so you are less likely to have irritation.
Is professional teeth whitening for everyone?
Those with yellow stains will find teeth whitening to be the most effective; however, there are certain stains that may be impossible to treat even with professional teeth whitening including blue or gray stains. Stains produced from long-term antibiotic use will not benefit from professional teeth whitening. If you are suffering from antibiotic-related stains, talk to your Ewa Beach dentist about other cosmetic options.
Do I have other options to get teeth whiter?
If you don’t want to spend time in the dentist chair, then you can opt for at-home teeth whitening trays. We can show you how to properly perform this whitening at home so that you get the best results. Just remember: the results from your at-home system won’t be as fast as our in-office whitening.
Whether you have a special occasion coming up or you just want to remove those yellowing stains once and for all, then it’s time to get teeth whitening in Ewa Beach. Call us today to schedule your first teeth whitening appointment.
